Japan New Year Celebration At Asakusa, Tokyo
Posted by: | CommentsHi Friends,
Last year, I visited Tokyo at end of the year. I was so glad that I booked a late flight home on 1 Jan and had a chance to visit Sensoji Temple to experience Japan New Year celebration at Asakusa, Tokyo.
I promised my readers to post photos of Japan new year celebration at Sensoji temple and here it go:-
First step, remember to buy some Japan new year oranges. They are so sweet. You can also buy them back in Singapore, but they do cost much more here (a packet of 5 oranges cost more than SGD20 in Isetan).
Cheaper To Visit Japan Now
Posted by: | CommentsHi Friends,
Do you know Japanese yen is depreciating against Singapore Dollar? Looks like it is cheaper to visit Japan now.
When I visited Japan last yen, Yen 1000 requires around SGD 13.50 to SGD14.50 to match. Currently, the rate has dropped to Yen 1000 to SGD12.50
I expect the Singapore dollars to continuous strengthen against Japanese Yen. Hence, Japan marks a cheaper travel destination to visit as compared to Australia which is currently still showing strong currency.
Which part of Japan I should visit?
I have been to Tokyo on free and easy trips twice already and I will love to visit a new place. Thinking Osaka or Nagoya could be likely travel destinations.
Will update you of the suggested free and easy itinerary and travel budget to Osaka , Kyoto and Nagoya.
Cheers
Karen

Cheap Tempura Meal In Japan
Posted by: | CommentsHi Friends,
Many people have this perception that traveling in Japan is expensive. Well, I don’t think Japan is cheap in comparison to Hong Kong, Thailand etc. However, it is not so expensive that only the rich can travel to Japan.
A cherry blossom trip cost around SGD2200 (all inclusive of accommodation, flight, meals, transport, shopping etc). So I think it is still an affordable place for many travelers to enjoy the scenery, food and culture. Today, I like to share with you where I found cheap tempura meal in Japan!
