Do You Know How Much I Save On My Japan Holiday?

Hi Friends,
I could not hide my excitement to share with you a great holiday deal I made recently. Just last Sunday, I book my cherry blossom trip for April 2012. Do you know how much I save on my Japan holiday?
Maybe some of you may recall I have initially planned for a cherry blossom trip in March this year. Unfortunately, the earthquake and Tsunami dash my hopes of visiting Japan to enjoy the cherry blossom festival.
After doing some research, I noted that
1) Cherry blossom average opening date in Tokyo is around last week of March. In fact, close to late March
2) After opening, the cherry blossom will reach full bloom in about 1 week. So this will be early April.
Next year, 6th April 2012 is actually Good Friday holiday in Singapore. I gather it is a great chance to grab early bird holiday booking to Tokyo.
So I started on my travel saving hunting trip (hee hee)…
First, I research on all possible direct flights to Tokyo. These are namely Singapore Airlines, Delta Airlines, ANA, Japan Airlines.
Strangely, ANA and Japan Airlines have not started any airfare promotion to Tokyo. So I look towards Singapore Airlines. I was excited when I saw Singapore Airlines offered less than $600/pax direct flight from Singapore to Haneda for dates departing on 31 March 2012 and returning on 8 April 2012.
Unfortunately I hesitated too long…. So within a few days when I check the available fare on Singapore Airlines, I am so disappointed that I can only fly on Singapore Airlines if I choose to fly earlier like 29 March 2012 and return on 6 April 2012.
With a “die hard” attitude to source out the best travel deals, I proceeded to search on ZUJI Singapore on available airfare. Then I spotted Delta Airlines offered around S$551/pax to fly on 29 March 2012 and return on 6 April 2012.
As this is not my ideal traveling dates, I did not book immediately. And on Sunday evening, while checking Zuji website, I suddenly saw that they release new dates from 31 March 2012 to 8 April 2012 on Delta Airlines. This is a direct flight, but to Narita airport.
Without hesitation, I immediately proceed to book the airfare. When completing the airfare booking, Zuji offers me to book my airfare together with its recommended Shinagawa Prince Hotel. The hotel deal at Shinagawa Prince Hotel gives a savings of 50% for booking of hotel stay exceeding five nights.
Altogether, my booking on Zuji for a 9 days 8 nights stay in Tokyo, inclusive of direct flight to Narita airport (inclusive of airport taxes and surcharges) for 2 pax cost SGD2385! I made a comparison that a similar booking separately will cost me around SGD2850. Thus I actually save SGD465 on my Japan holiday booking with Zuji!
Not only that, as Zuji is marketing its FY2012 holidays, it offers a holiday rebate to my credit card of SGD80 for holiday packages to Japan travel in Jan to Jun 2012.
So you guess correctly! I am now a happy traveler, looking forward to my next year trip to Japan. And really have to thanks Zuji for making my dream of visiting Japan comes true, without burning a big hole in my wallet.
If you are also planning for your 2012 holidays, why not check out great travel deals at ZUJI Singapore!
Updated on 30 Dec 2011:
Today, I received sweet Macaron treats from Zuji for booking 2012 holidays. Look yummy!
Also, my credit card statement has already reflected the S$80.00 rebate from Zuji for booking flight + hotel together. So happy every time I think of seeing cherry blossoms next year!
Happy holiday:>
Cheers,
Karen
