Hi Friends,
During my stay in Hong Kong, I made a day trip to Macau and visited the Galaxy Macau Hotel.
The Galaxy Macau Hotel is located very near to the famous Venetian Macau Resort.
When we reached there around 2 p.m., we were already famished. Thus, we headed straight to the foodcourt called Tastes of Asia.
On the way, we passed a popular Macau local products shop which can also be found near St Paul’s Church, Venetian Macau Resort and Hotel.
I remembered that people say Macau Ba Kwa tastes different as compared to Singapore. We bought a small packet to try. The Macau ba kwa is indeed different. It is thicker and sweeter as compared to Singapore version.
Very soon we saw the food court.
Before rushing to place our food order, we were told to purchase a Galaxy Macau Pass. You could top up whatever amount into the Galaxy Macau Pass.
When you placed an order, you just needed to show the Galaxy Macau Pass to the shop owner. Any unused value would be refunded to you in cash.
The food court was very spacious and there were many varieties of food which all of us can choose. Strangely I could not find any store selling Portuguese food.
As we looked around, we saw a familiar brand. That was Prima taste from Singapore! Of course, i did not order any food from Prima taste since I was here for local food.
Since I couldn’t find any local Macau or Portuguese food, I finally decided to order from Da Ge Cantanese BBQ which sells typical Hong Kong BBQ food.
This stall seemed popular and I wanted my parents to try a Hong Kong roast goose. I was afraid that we could not have the time to hunt down the famous roast goose stall in Hong Kong.
Most importantly, we were not disappointed at its food, especially its tender roast goose meat and chaw siew.Very nice!
My dad loved the roast pork. It was nice but I found it “too” sinful because of the fat (:>)
Later, we ordered another interesting dish which was sliced sausage. My hubby loved this dish.
Each set cost about HKD75-85 and I think it was well worth because of the high quality food served.
What I liked about these high end hotels like Galaxy Macau Hotel, Venetian Macau Resort and Hotel was the fact that they have such a food court to cater for affordable meals out. And the food served at their food court was very nice.
Till now…. I am still missing the roast goose and chaw siew from Galaxy Macau Hotel!
Yummy holidays!
Cheers,
Karen
