Hi Friends,
When I am in Hong Kong this July 2010, I am going to taste all the Hong Kong delicacies. This will be the main categories of food which I will not miss:-
DIM SUM
Dim Sum needs no further introduction to all Singaporeans, especially Cantonese.
The delightful, tasty Chinese snacks are served in steaming bamboo baskets. Dim sum is best teamed up with a pot of hot Chinese tea and taken for breakfast or lunch.
My favorite dim sum includes shrimp dumplings, steamed pork buns, steamed pork ribs, chicken feet and many more.
Hmm…. can’t wait to arrive in Hong Kong!
LOCAL STREET SNACKS
You can find this Hong Kong street snacks like curry fish ball, beef balls, sausages, squid, fried vegetables in Taiwan as well. But not in Singapore.
This snack is served on sticks or in bowls for one to enjoy while one is on the move.
The curry fish balls and beef balls are strongly recommended because of the strong flavoring and juiciness.Yummy!
SEAFOOD
Hong Kong is a heaven for seafood lovers! We can find waterfront dining at Sai Kung, Lei Yue Mum and Lamma Islands.
The more affordable seafood is now found at Lamma Islands or Sai Kung.
CANTONESE BBQ
Alright, I have to admit that I am not a big fun for roasted BBQ. But my hubby is. So this trip is not fruitful if we did not taste the roasted goose.
Cantonese BBQ refers to roast duck, cha siu, crispy roast pork, soy sauce chicken and much other special roast-flavor meat are typical Cantonese BBQ dishes.
Two well know Cantonese BBQ restaurants in Hong Kong are Yung Kee Restaurant and Tai Xing Roast Restaurant.
