Is Tour Packages During Post Natas Fair More Expensive?

Have you wondered if tour packages during Post Natas Fair more expensive? Let me check this out!

I went to check on tour packages to West America this afternoon.

ASA Holidays has a 12 days USA tour package, termed “USA Western Delight” with the following itinerary:

Day 1- Depart from Singapore to San Francisco

Day 2 – Tour San Francisco famous sightseeing spots like Fisherman Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, shopping at Great Mall of the Bay Area and etc

Day 3 – Travel along 17 Mile Scenic Drive to Fresno

Day 4 – Travel from Fresno to Las Vegas. The ride takes about 8 hours

Day 5 – Visit Grand Canyon west rim at Las Vegas. Experience helicopter ride (optional tour)

Day 6 – Enjoy a free day at Las Vegas

Day 7 – Travel from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. Shop at Barstow along the way

Day 8 – Enjoy your rides at Disneyland

Day 9 – Visit Hollywood, Mann’s Chinese Theater, Beverly Hill. Thereafter visit Universal Studios

Day 10 – Depart Las Vegas to Singapore

Day 11/12 – Arrive Singapore

The above tour package is quoted at SGD3688/adult or SGD 3388/child for travel in  mid December.

Depending on the airline chosen, the airport taxes are different. On Eva Airlines, the airport tax is SGD 430/pax. If on Singapore Airlines, airport tax exceeds SGD800/pax.

Out of curiosity, I asked how much has the price increased since Natas Fair in August? The tour consultant told me about SGD200/pax.

The reason for the increase is  mainly due to during pre-Natas or Natas fair, the minimum group has not been formed. Once a minimum group is gathered ( could be 8 or 10 pax depending on tour agencies), the tour agencies start adjusting their prices for  tour packages upwards. The selling point is this is a confirmed departure tour group.

Although $200 over $3688 represents only a 5.4% increase, but if you are traveling in a big group, it can be a substantial absolute savings just by you booking early rather than waiting near to October.

By the way, $200/ pax increase isn’t just quoted by ASA Holidays. I also checked out the prices at Super Travel and the travel consultant too disclose that their prices have increased by $200 as compared to Natas Fair.

Now you know it, worth to start planning your trip early…. early….and save money!
