Maid Cafes

Hi Friends,
Have you heard of the popular Maid cafes in Japan? Maid cafes are a type of cosplay restaurant found predominantly in Akihabara, Tokyo.
In these cafés, waitresses dressed in maid costumes act as servants, and treat customers as masters (and mistresses) in a private home, rather than as café patrons.
In Singapore, there is a maid cafe set at at Funan IT Mall. Every time I walked past the maid cafe, I was tempted to step in for an experience. But the overpriced menu ( close to SGD20 for a beverage and cake) always put off the idea.
Last Sunday, however, I finally experienced being served in a maid cafe at the Anime Festival Asia held in Singapore Suntec City.
Most maid cafe offer menu like common beverages (coffee, tea, soft drinks) and a variety of desserts. Catch a sample of the menu below:
After serving the food to your table, the waitresses will often decorate a customer’s order with cute designs at his or her table. Using hot chocolate or ketchup, the waitresses start to dress up your plate and pour the milk and tea for your coffee or tea. This service adds to the image of the waitress as an innocent but pampering maid.
Besides being pampered by the waitresses, they will also make you laugh and participate along a sing and action before you dig into your meal. One thing for sure the waitresses are a feast to the eyes. Attractive ladies and full of cheerfulness.
For the males, you may be disappointed to find out that the maid cafes are governed by the below rules:-
Even if you can’t date the waitress out, please still experience dining in the maid cafe. We are going to another maid cafe when we hit at Japan the next time.
Cheers
Karen
