In my earlier post, we ask if travel insurance is a waste of money? We realize that travel insurance helps to cover cost of canceling a vacation tour package should you fall sick at the last minute and could not proceed with the travel.

Today, let us explore what are the possible other reasons for taking up a travel insurance.

Reason 2 – Pay for Your Medical Emergency In A Foreign Country

During our vacation tour package to Korea last year, my hubby came down with food poisoning.

The tour guide brought him to a nearby clinic. He was given some medication, took a rest at the ski resort for one day and recovered.’

In my hubby’s case, he was unlucky to come down with food poisoning and a little bit lucky because he need not be hospitalized.

What if you need to be hospitalized when you are at a overseas trip?

Do you know that medical cost is high to a foreigner in countries like  Japan and Korea. In situation like this, buying a travel insurance gives you a peace of mind.

Yes, it is true that most people do not fall sick when they are traveling. However, there is a handful who need medical emergency overseas. When you buy a travel insurance, such cost will be picked up by the travel insurance insurer.

Consider a travel insurance if you are traveling to a faraway country. You can check with the tour guide if medical cost is high in that country you are traveling to.
