Hi Friends,
During my recent trip to Malaysia, I dined at a tonic soup restaurant known as Taang Shifu at Jusco, Malaysia. The food was really nice and I am excited to share with you that Taang Shifu had opened an outlet at Johor Premium Outlets!
Taang Shifu restaurant prides itself as a a specialist in traditional Chinese herbal and medicine. It provides comprehensive nourishing food and beverage that suit customers in a wide spectrum of different customer from youngster to elder.
TaangShiFu has built her reputation as a nourishing concept restaurant and providing healthy products conforming to customers’ specifications at competitive price with finest quality and spectacular dining environment.
These are some chef recommended dishes:-
My brother ever tried the above dried Mee Suah and he said it was very nice. During our trip, however, we opted for a set dinner for 4 persons.
The first dish came. The innocent looking jar of “Shifu” Sour Plum Tea was so nice that it really wakes me up.In fact, I loved it so much that I asked the restaurant if they sell the ingredients to make this drink. But they don’t, so sad….
Next, we had two bowls of nourishing soup with ginseng. Each bowl was more than sufficient for 2 adults. Whilst nourishing, this dish could be bitter because of the ginseng.
A next dish went well with rice. This was the braised chicken. The chicken was tender, mushroom really nice because it was soaked with all the favour.
The next dish was one of my favorite dishes. This was actually french beans with Pu Er Tea. It did not taste anything like Pu Er Tea. I couldn’t really describe its unique taste, except I knew it was very nice stir fried french beans.
It was good to know that the next dish served was not going to be meat again. We received our fifth dish, which was bean curd served with abalone Sauce X.O.
The special thing about this bean curd dish is with the ingredients on top of the bean curd. It tastes a little salty; a little sweet. Very unique. Although bean curd was bland, but mixed with XO sauce, they were perfect pair to complete this dish.
Hmmm… yes I knew. Above dish was sinful, but couldn’t help it. It was included in the set menu. The pork was very tender and I loved the mushroom.
I controlled myself not to take too much pork as the next dish was my favorite cod fish. Just tasted like how my mum would prepare it. Very homely!
By the time, we finished the cod fish, we were totally filled. Very filling indeed. But the feast was yet to be over till we finished our dessert.
The above dessert was also one of the chef recommended dishes. It could be served either cold or hot. This dessert might taste a little sweet, but it was delicious.
So after you enjoyed shopping at Johor Premium Outlets, it was a good chance to treat yourself to a nourishing meal at Taang Shifu which recently opened a new outlet there.
Enjoy a healthy meal!
Cheers,
Karen
