After compiling the above, we gather the few points you should consider before signing up a Taiwan tour package.
1)Where Do You Want To Visit?
Taiwan is actually quite large. There are a few place to visit in Taiwan besides Taipei. Before signing up, do your own research (see map of Taiwan here) and find out which place you want to visit in Taiwan. Different tour agencies may bring its tour group to slightly different places.
2) Understanding Many Factors Affect the Tour Package Prices
While tour package price is always the top consideration, do take note that some tour agencies priced their packages higher as they give you 5* hotels accommodation throughout your trip. So do ask which hotels will the tour packages provide.
3) Find Out Which Airline You Will Be Taking?
Another factor which may influence the tour packages is the airlines you will be taking. Tour packages that includes SIA flights are usually more expensive.
Timing of the flights is also important to ensure that you have more days at your travel destination.
4) Find Out The Detailed Itinerary
Find out the detailed itinerary. You may have in mind a particular spot that you must visit in Taiwan. It is always better to confirm if the tour agency is bringing you there. Also ask how many hours do you have at that particular tourist spots.
Ask if you have option to extend more days at the end of the tour package. This is especially if you are in a city like Taipei and will like to do a free and easy and visit more places not cover
5) Are You Staying At Theme Parks For 1 Full Day?
If you are visiting any theme parks, do ask if admission tickets entitles you to all rides or limited rides. Most importantly, ask if you are able to stay a full day or it is only a half day at the theme parks. For some theme parks, e.g. Disneyland Tokyo, they will have firework shows at night. You can also check if the tour is staying to watch the fireworks or not.
6) Ask How Many Meals You Have To Pay By Yourselves?
Usually any free and easy day or a tour to theme park means you will have to pay for your own meals. It is good to confirm how many meals you will need to pay by yourselves. This helps you to budget the true cost of the Taiwan trip. In addition, do check with the tour agency how much does one meal cost in Taiwan.
