Hi Friends,
For those who have been following my blog will know that I am planning a trip to Macau and Hong Kong in July 2010. I am planning my itinerary for my 7 days 6 nights Hong Kong and Macau trip.
The trip will be 7 days, whereby 2.5 days will be spent in Macau and 4.5 days will be spent in Hong Kong. Lets see our itinerary for Day 3.
Travel Itinerary for Hong Kong & Macau- Day 3
Morning
We are checking out of Venetian Macau-Resort-Hotel today. The check out time will be around 11 a.m.
This morning, we shall have a relaxing buffet breakfast at Venetian Macau-Resort-Hotel. For the rest of the morning, we will do last shopping at Grand Canal Shoppes.
Upon checking out of the grand Venetian Macau-Resort-Hotel, we will take the complimentary shuttle bus from the hotel to the Taipa ferry terminal.
Cotai Jet departs from Taipa ferry terminal to China ferry terminal. The ferry departs every 1/2 hr and operates from 7.00a.m. onwards.
Hong Kong China ferry termina is located at Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The ferry from Taipa ferry terminal to Hong Kong takes about 1 hour, so we are expecting to reach Hong Kong by 1.30p.m.
Timing is just right! It is time to check into Nathan Hotel, Hong Kong by taking a 5 minutes taxi ride from China ferry terminal.
Afternoon
The official check in time into Nathan Hotel, Hong Kong is 2 p.m.
Nathan hotel, Hong Kong is located at the heart of Kowloon’s Golden Mile Nathan Road. It takes only 3 minutes by walk from the hotel to the nearest Jordan MRT subway station.
In the afternoon, we plan to visit Tsim Sha Tsui. Tsim Sha Tsui is the heart and soul of Hong Kong.
We will be taking MRT to Tsim Sha Tsui station and exit A1- Jamia masjid Islamic to Harbour City.
Here we shall explore Harbour City, Hong Kong’s largest shopping mall with hundreds of local and international stores, most open until 9pm.
Taking a 3 minutes walk from Harbour City, we can explore the Star Ferry Pier.
The Star Ferry is one of Hong Kong’s best known and most loved landmarks. The distinctive green-and -white ferries are diesel powered boats that serve the Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Peninsula since 1898.
Nearby, we see Tsim Sha Tsui clock tower, which houses the original clock from the former site of Tsim Sha Tsui train station.
Night
After dinner, it is time to watch to watch the spectacular A Symphony of Lights with your love ones. This is the world’s largest permanent light and sound show held nightly at 8 p.m.
The best spot to watch the show is at The Avenue of Stars. Here, it offers a perfect view and also features a broadcast of the narration and soundtrack. To get to Avenue of Stars, exit J of East Tsim Sha Tsui MRT.
The Avenue of Stars is Hong Kong’s monument to its stars of the golden screen. Bruce Lee, Michelle Yeoh and Jackie Chan all have a star on the avenue, as well as numerous other lumineries. On every Saturday, there will also be a Wholala Musical performance from 7-10 p.m.
As it is usually crowded at the Avenue of Stars, another good option (or less crowded place) to watch the Symphony of Lights is the Ocean Terminal pier just to the north of the Star Ferry Terminal.
After the show, we are heading down to Nathan Road’s famous Golden Mile that bustles with shoppers day and night. It’s renowned for its colorful neon-lit shops, restaurants and nightspots. Most shops stay open until 1 a.m.
If we still have energy after tackling “The Golden Mile”, we will check out the sidewalks of Granville and Cameron Road, which is a favorite spot for factory outlet shopping.
Time to head back Nathan Hotel. Home sweet home.
Keep in tune for day 4 of our Hong Kong and Macau itinerary!
Cheers
Karen
